Bringing together two towns (Dumbéa and Païta) as well as the capital Nouméa, this area is the economic centre of New Caledonia where most of the country's population live. Nouméa enjoys all types of urban infrastructure: restaurants, shops, bars, museums including the famous Jean-Marie Tjibaou centre, all lined with beaches where you can bask in the sun. Dumbéa is known for its refreshing river nestled between the mountains. As for Païta, it is the most rural and is packed with relics of the past.
